Peachy's shophouse research: "Facade Vs. Circulation"

I study and research about different kinds of thing that people usually put on the facade of the shophouse. Because of these things ( such as steel cage and huge advertise board) effect on ventilation and sun light going inside which can change the activities inside the shophouse.

First, I research on the general shophouse characteristic from the original chinese
and the shophouse in Bangkok.

After researching, I found that shophouse in Bangkok is changed a a lot in term of tropical architecture. There is no air well which make the shophouse good in ventilation in very dense and enclosure like that and there is no 5-foot way like in China. The only that remains the same is the function of it.
Ground floor is for public activity (shop) and upper floor is a residential space (house). The most interesting point for me is the added things on facade which that the original one doesn't have.

To dig deeper on this topic I  have to observe more.

To see the relationship between outside and in side the facade, I set 2 topic to look at which are the ventilation and amount of sunlight that can go inside. For example, if there is advertise board that cover all of the facade (no light, no wind) behind that could be staircase or hallway. If there is CDU of air condition+windows(normally have) it could be bedroom or living room. The position of staircase can indicate the zoning of room.
