Praewa's Proposal " Drive through art gallery "

The project is a drive through art gallery, which originates from my site analysis. On the site, there are continuously changing visuals of graffiti, and it is also the shortcut to from Phyathai to Petchburi road, so taxi and Tuk-Tuk pass through that area often. Therefore, I want to create a place for artist, community, and people passing by that area, so I come up with the idea of drive through art gallery. Therefore, walking pedestrians, bicyclist, and cars can access this gallery, and it depends on the speed of the vehicle through the pulley system that wrapped around the building to the façade, aligned into zoetrope. The shophouse also includes the separation of usage, having the first to floors being public gallery, and the upper floor being the studio. Artist will use the studio as a working space to draw on canvas that is connected to the pulley system, so the art piece can be changed continuously from this system. Lastly, my definition of erotic is the change of what we see daily, and the change will be unexpected, which the user can never predict what will be the next art piece.

Many audiences try to turning each frame .

When two people turning it at the same time .

When the portal completely closed.

The visitors first notice the dark hallway with dim light. The atmosphere happened when walking along the hallway of 7^th floor from studio lead to the giant reflective portal blocking the whole walkway and view of other side. The reactions of the visitors are different depends on a number of people interacted with the portal. At first no body touch it because they not sure they allow to touch it or not, thus, they only see the reflection of the hallway from the reflective stickers. At first they just wait for the first the visitors react to the portal in many ways. Because there are many layers that can open up therefore, they not only open it up and walk pass through it but they also explore with it and try to get through a smaller frame. When two or more people get through at the same time sometimes they push to the opposite direction, which created contradiction. My intention is for people who normally used this space to walk during late evening time to another elevators spot in the middle part of the building, which are only available at that time. It forces the visitor to figure out what is going on and try to do something about it, to be able to reach the destination they want to go. There was no advice for the visitors to do anything, I expected for this project is to define my own erotic meaning, which is a feeling of humans that usually come in the sequence if they have a desire to do something or to fulfill their need. The portal is a thing that block human to the destination they want to go, they can go by stair instead of going by the middle elevator but the feeling of curiously is another variable that induce people to the portal. Thus, the portal changes the feeling of people in that space completely than before. (Normally no one notice or stop by the hallway except people that come to use locker. Most of the time they only walk pass.)

Experiment with reflective sticker with light.

Interaction possibilities appear to work and to others people. 

Prototype changes to block the hallway completely for created reflective hall way changed normal surrounding by blocking the whole walk way. The position changed from perpendicular to the floor to parallel.
