Nut's documentation and post-analysis on "The Untitled"
Final Documentation
As a result came out with the choice of using a material just light & project, there are no other elements involve in this place. The installation was just red light on the 2levels and the angle of projection along the stair. The shadow projection was meant to be up side down to create a feeling of rotation in the space ( this is from the rotation concept of Escher drawing where his people is walking on the stair at another perspective view and it looks like it was upside down. The placement of each material was also meant to create the shadow from the user, while walking around the site there will be both user shadow & projection shadow on the wall. The sound that was include in this area to make user imagine what is going on around the staircase.
What is "EROTIC"?
To me the first thing that came into mind is actually something doing with sexual, but in this place when it came into architecture it makes me think more about people feeling and what capture them to stare at. It is kind of like the first impression that when you saw something that really attract you and then it slowly diffuse away. This is some sort of feeling that could not be explain because different people would feel the different ways this have prove to me by doing this project people do think and feel differently, they all have different experiences toward my installation. To me this became one of the erotic thing that is happening here is the first impression that each individual person would have.

Shadow Projection effect on site
Light source & Shadow sequence
The shadow video was another material that I have include as my installation. The shadow effect showing in sequences comes from Escher drawing, which he have the light effect from many direction along the stair. Also the shadow would be project upside down so that it would give some sort of feeling that people walking into my site would feel that they were rotating at the same time.
The installation on the first try works quite well along with the development that have to be made such as: light color, angle of projection and brightness within the area.

Graphic testing on Light
I have try to experiment by graphic as planning how my site would look like on the site, based on the light diffusion concept that I have got from Bill Viola. I want to try and makes a dark area which will slowly diffuse into brighter area.
This was a result of using the materials on site it does not came out the same as what I would get on the graphic, but it became very useful for me as an installation development in the next level. Now I would able to identified where an artificial light should be place around my site.
Creating a Shadow Projection
A shadow projection video which I have as one of my installation apart from light. The video shows a human shadow acting randomly on the stair and this would be perfectly fit on my site.
Nut's research on Bill Viola & M.C. Escher
Bill Viola - The Vieling
Bill Viola (1951) is internationally recognized as one of today’s leading artists. He has been instrumental in the establishment of video as a vital form of contemporary art, and in so doing has helped to greatly expand its scope in terms of technology, content, and historical reach. For 40 years he has created videotapes, architectural video installations, sound environments, electronic music performances, flat panel video pieces, and works for television broadcast. Viola’s video installations—total environments that envelop the viewer in image and sound employ state-of-the-art technologies and are distinguished by their precision and direct simplicity. Viola uses video to explore the phenomena of sense perception as an avenue to self-knowledge. His works focus on universal human experiences—birth, death, the unfolding of consciousness and have roots in both Eastern and Western art as well as spiritual traditions, including Zen Buddhism, Islamic Sufism, and Christian mysticism. Using the inner language of subjective thoughts and collective memories, his videos communicate to a wide audience, allowing viewers to experience the work directly, and in their own personal way.
Installation Process & Technique
I was inspire by how Bill Viola use the technique of light diffusion & parrallel in this piece of work. It is a very useful technique for me that I got from him, how he project am image of a man and woman from both side of the curtain starting from dark area then an image suddenly diffuse in bright area. Also, an image that have been projected on the screen has created some repetition on each layer that it past through.
Example of parrallel technique
M.C. Escher - Relativity
Escher 3 perspective points drawing. I was really amaze from what I saw in his drawing he use the theory of triangle. It was even more interesting when I notice that the drawing didn't meant to make the human figure upside down, but it was for showing the image in another side of perspective by rotating it clockwise we would see the image in another view.
This show how Escher was trying to show the light source & light effect on his drawing and judge where it should be.
Department store- Terminal 21 ( BRIDGE & CEILING)
This was taken while I was standing at the first floor the two colors RED & BLUE have capture my attention from the contrast which it has makes with the surrounding. And it is because of the colors that is so bright make it very attractive.
Ceiling inside Terminal 21
It is the colors combination in this picture which create the impression here, especially with the background layer which have tones of skin color.
ALL SEASON PLACE
It was taken while I was walking around in the wireless road area. Due to the perspective of the building at this point here which is pointing straight toward the sky.
CONDO (Rama 4 Rd.)
It is the shape of the which makes me see it so erotic and especially when I look at it in this perspective this brings me to see it even more in erotic way.
