SARAR proposal: Pachinko Erotic hall

This project is continue concept from the project 0. The concept is erotic and how we define erotic words. In this final Erotic is all the sense been used (5 sensibilities). So in this shophouse is connecting 3 shophouse together and creating boundary of house in the middle. The contrasting point of this is housing part is going to be white and everything is comfortable. For outside is pachinko hall, everything in red,green,orange,blue tone because of pachinko's machine. People get in from the font of house and have to walk through the hall way to get into house area. The user of house is mother, father and one daughter. For people who coming to play pachinko is can be anyone. The wall texture is metal sheet in the same pattern to help reflecting of light and bounce it to outside. On side of shophouse are glasses so outside can definitely see activities inside. Another thing that make this place so erotic is sense, every sense been used and the atmosphere and surrounding sound are pushing to go farter. 

This is interior inside the bedroom, everything in white and the corner is soft edge.

At night people can see the light bouncing in and out better

Pachinko's hall is boundary of light from machine and hit the wall. Everything switching colour so fast. 

For this video the light and sound really make this hall way become more erotic. The light from pachinko machine during  day time is not bright as night time same as surrounding sound.

Contrast of inside and outside. People from outside can't see what's going on inside.

This is view from looking up from bean bag. i knit fabric to create boundary for people to look at and picture like they really have protection event texture inside is soft and comfortable.

I install lef light inside bean bag to make inside grow and reflection of warm light and white fabric is create warm  and friendly/welcome atmosphere.

Everyone seem understanding this installation. Most people get inside by walking in and crawl up as new born. I'm glad that people understood the situation by reading space and material of installation. I saw people experience by get inside as twin or triples so this make space inside smaller so people have to stay closer. People says they like smell of fabric softness. Because it feel like home and elastic fabric give people a texture and smell. The most effective part that everyone talk about were stair and sound inside womb. Stair lead people to the work and give people hard time to come up. Sound inside womb can't be hear from outside but inside installation is so clear. This is fuzzy, water moving and heartbeat sound play in the same time. People inside installation can't really hear people from outside because this space have echo and sound of womb is lounder inside. People like bean bag because they could feel side of bean bag protect their body when sit on. This project is completely done and all sense of human been uses.

I define erotic as curiosity because when people want to know something they will try so hard to find out. I curiose, what if people want to bring back memory that they had but no one can remember it. So this related to my work by we all lives in mother's womb for 9 months but we can't remember anything. 

Sarar's installation development: Hidden memories (thinking process)

 This project is about erotic and after i read kissing architecture i think i understand more about erotic. I think kissing architecture is apart of erotic because when you kiss someone it doesn't need to feel for it. Kissing could be for good bye, says hi or just one touch. But what we received from kissing was feeling. Event kissing is physical temporary but memory is contemporary. After i understand the state of kissing so i define erotic as curiosity because when people curious on something they will try their best to find out. 

After i work on artist research, i give myself an conclusion that "smell bring back memory" because whenever people smell something so familiar  they will picture it. This bring me to question myself that what kind of smell that will make people think of one place. This is so challenging because everyone have their personal smell and it's hard to find out what kind of smell will suit people the best. 

Later on, i think home is place that everyone suppose to have or called home but the problem is home is  personal. So i divided my curiosity in three steps.

1. What kind of smell that bring people back home?

Define home = comfortable

Smell's survey - people like fabric softness smell the most people feel like home and comfortable.Also fabric is the best container to keep smell last long, and texture is soft and comfort.

2. Home for everyone are different, so what kind of place people know it from first sign?

Answer : Mother's womb- this is place that everyone suppose to have memories but since we're so young then we can't remember it. My status for this is "To bring back memory that everyone had but no one ever remember".

3. Find site that suit this project

This is site on 4 floor which i think it's a mistake because there're stair to library but it's closed from inside. So this is death area that people not really care about but what i like it in here the most is stair. It give me a feeling of walking to some exciting place. Also it so effective in this project because while people walking down and go under installation they will notice it. 

This is diagram of my expectation on this installation. I want people to experience the feeling in womb also if they stay inside installation only and keep adding people inside to become twin and triplets. What kind of perspective they will get and how much room is left? The way people walking and crawl up, do people will do in the same way? 

Sarar's installation development: Hidden memories

This is my expectation to this installation. I want people to walk down to my installation and while they waking their won't know what is inside. So stair created threshold and fabric inside and outside created boundary. When people walk down to installation they will find an easy way to get inside and to sit on bean bag. The reason i pick bean bag because it comfortable and soft. I want people to feel like they lives in safe, warm, comfortable and protection place. Also bean bag when people sit on all foam inside will be on side and cover people body(protection). When people walking up they will find it a bit hard because bean bag moving and they have to crawl up.

Sarar's research on Rirkrit Tiravanja and El Anatsui

Rirkrit Tiravanja

He is Thai artist that his performance is relationship aesthetic. I found interested in his performance at MoMa. I think the art gallery is place for people to come and see art work, so there're many rule in here. But what Rirkrit done were cooking inside the gallery and let's people experiences Thai's food and enjoy/sharing moment together. I pick two performance in different year and countries because i could see people in different culture act while eating. 

What i found interested

1. Smell in building - Since people alway think that art gallery show have fresh smell but when people smell food they will walking around to find it.

2. Reaction of people when they first test food (so important moment)

3. How people interact with food and talk to other ( this is creating community)

4. Since artist is Thai but half of his life was aboard so we see perspective of people outside looking toward Thailand.

This is El Anatsui's work, i like how he transforms trash to wonderful art work. Work that i chooses was British alcohol label dedicate to El. What he had done was created piece of art and return it back to British. This point make me think back into history of European. They were drug other country by sale alcohol and cigaret, so other country society go down. To compair this project with history would be good example that people from Europe still done the same thing to other country and what they receive back is amazing art work; which so expensive.

 Every picture took at Ancient City (Samutprakarn)

 I was walking around and looking at all detailed of sculpture, this is the head of Chinese dragon in from of the temple. As you see the picture is so iconic. The head of woman is the nose of dragon and this picture look like a woman put her legs up. Also, the contrast of the ground and sculpture make woman looks stronger. 

I like the color of red bridge and reflection on water. I put it upside down because when people saw at first they won't notice that this picture not suppose to look like this. Also, water help the solid object have movement and momentum.

The first though of this picture kind of dirty. I just want something that so iconic and contrast with background. This is apart of column in temple. I like the gradience of the sky, in middle is white and radiance is blue. 

When i took this picture, i really like lighting in this time (evening). This is a fence of temple and in the middle have hole. when i look through in the middle i saw the wall texture, which wasn't neat and dirty. Then questions pop up in my mind, why outside of the fence as cover looks way better but inside as detail were terrible? The answer i gave back to myself was; because everyone have their own stories which could and couldn't publish.
