Boss's proposal: Flowing Glass

The upper plate represent is the analysis of the site, thonglor, last strip of shophouse. It shows the different functionality with the aspect of time and user as well.
In this project the main focus is on the property of eroticism, in the process of increasing intimacy, in the change in function and how its varied through times, which in this case is day and night.
The proposal will be based on the same property of eroticism, however within a single building that could act as every function of the whole site through the change of hydraulic floor plate. Furthermore, this shophouse will enhance this full 24 hours active site to be even more active to all the user full day.

Boss's shophouse research: "one structure, multiple customisation"

My research is focused on the customisation ability of the shophouse facade over the single mass produced structure. The video is focusing mostly on the possibilities of the differences functions that shop house could be through the customisation of the facade to inform the context of its building.

Boss's documentation and post-analysis on "Senses?"

Erotic

It is true the artist I choose is not dealing directly with erotic theme, however I found their work quite erotic. Marina Abramovic is a performance artist, and Rirkrit Tiravanija is an artist dealing with how his work can change over time, and how the audience can actually interact with the art pieces. It is very interesting and erotic in a way where the audiences do not only look at the pieces but also interact with it or even becoming the art himself or herself. Applying it to the erotic architecture, I feel that it is erotic when the audience or the user of the architecture is actually sensing the architecture more than they usually does, which in this case is to actually sense the installation with all the five senses, one in each levels, in order to accomplish the objectives and fid the codes to complete the poem, which actually enhance the effect of making the installation even more erotic.

PROJECT 1: EROTIC ARCHITECTURE PHOTOGRAPHY

The Pulling Intersection
Expressway of Rama 6 Rd. - It looks bare and naked from the under, which
is a view we don't usually see them unless you took the shortcut into soi Ari.
The curvature and the intersection point of the entrance and exit of the express way
actually emphasise the curvature even more. Having both the express way at different
level of height has made them dramatically differ in terms of contrast. The one on the left actually receives the light that bounces off the ground, while the other one on the right is too low to receive the light making it quite dark and it actually enhance the contrast. The shape does also looks like
it is pulling everything into the point where they both intersect and it give a feeling of a pulling forces.

The Curving Straight
Facade of Central World - The structure and the glasses have made the architecture looks
very naked and seductive. The cleanness of the white finishes and the darkness of the structures
does also play a lot of roles in here making it even more seductive. the contrast in this
picture is so much that it give me a feeling of power and connection between two
element (white and black). The way they meet at the centre vertical line is also giving the feeling
of pulling force just like the previous picture. The perspective effect does also play a lot of roles
here; it give the distorted spectrum of line that actually create a imaginary curvature on the straight and stable structure.

The Dark White
Ceiling of Central World - The structure and the window of the ceiling is playing the illusion,
and by illusion it give the architecture a very erotic sense of structure. Having the white structure beside the white sky is tricking us to think that the white in architecture is dark colour instead, when compared to the real white-blue of the sky. The curving structure of the window is also playing a important roles for this illusion as well, it create a very erotic sense of structure that separate the architecture from the nature. The way the ceiling is cut into ribs is making it look more structural and which seem naked to me. It inform the viewer more of its own structure making the viewer and the building a little bit more intimately related to each other.

The Organic Architecture
Screen of Rex Hotel - The screen is being so curvy and organic-like. It is wholly white but with the play of light it looks mysterious by the gradient it created. The reflecting glasses behind that
reflects the picture is also helping the architecture to looks even more mystical and give the viewer more curiosity. The surface of the screen is also rough and this have made it feels even more organic. It feels porous and soft just like a tissue of human skin. It feels like the building is being torn apart and this is actually the inside, naked, part of the building, that is consisted of light and darkness within oneself. It emphasise me the idea of dilemma which only occurs in living creature.
