Woody's proposal: Music Library

Master axonometric

The project is music library at soi Thonglor, it's located at the corner of soi Thonglor 3.  The concept developed from the very previous work. The first installation project demonstrate an attraction of people by light. Color working as animation, it told the story by changing and synchronize with pattern that react to what ever that been activating. in this case music are optional for the design, to run away from the annoying area around the site; traffic jam, clubbing sound, tropical climate. this music library can provoke an attraction from them. Music will provide attraction while animation illusionate a viewer. Also during night time the building become ornamentation itself, the projecting process is optional so the animation that people see from the outside are random. The transition between each room happens when people choose to listen different type of music. People from the outside can observe and enjoy the animation. The music library is a design that concern of every type of user; children, worker, old people. So what the people in soi thonglor will see depends on what customer are listening.

Woody's installation drawing & development: "One Day"

One day

Why it is erotic? firstable: it is a temporary work that adaptable depends on surrounded environment. in this case i've create an animation of time-lapse using a element that is actually existed in thailand (only rainy animation is available). in the other hand it's possible to create an extraordinary event ,Example shooting star, snow, aurora ... etc. Secondable; color is a great tool to pleasuring a viewer, it also can be defined as a pleasing arrangement of parts, whether it be music, color ,video or picture. In visual experiences, color is something that is pleasing to the eye. it engages the viewer and it creates an inner sense of order, a balance in the visual experience. moreover i'am influenced by my case study "joan jonas", most of her work involve with technology. this might be a good opportunity for me to try some.

Storyboard

a storyboard is a step before creating an animation. with this storyboard we can see the whole picture of the animation. A number under the picture represent a key frames that will inform when the color change or an event happen. rainy and fogs will be added as a sub-element (concept of playing with weather and atmosphere)

Diagram of transition

this is a diagram of animation that will be projected on a canvas. the animation consist of colors that represent each period. the moment when the color change will be blended and smooth enough for viewers to see the transition. a diagram below provide an information of time, event and gradient of how the color changed.

light & project experiment

a canvas will be a bit transparent in order reflect the light  and color  on the audience body. in that case the audience will absorb and acknowledge an expression of time and space.

Site analysis

as mentioned below, I've have choose to create a time-lapse animation. And to make an animation work full potential,  it's require a massive canvas which the center court in the faculty maybe the perfect spot. the area is an entrance and at the same time it is an exit toward main elevators. the installation will be added at the main hall way, with the gaps that linked between walk way and center court. this gap will be placed with a massive canvas (4 x 3.50 meters). the audience will standby at the walk way or the court depends or their decision. (they will gain a different experience in a different perspective).

Time-Lapse

in order to give an experience of time to the audience, i choose to use colors to identify time and space, color is a very useful material. Each color provide physical & emotional meaning or expression. it is well known that each period of time is ordered with a specific color. so this is an installation that using a illusion to demonstrate a time-lapse with color as a material element.

How time-lapse works

Film is often projected at 24 frames, meaning 24 images appear on the screen every second. Under normal circumstances, a film camera will record images at 24 frame/s. Since the projection speed and the recording speed are the same, the images onscreen appear to move at normal speed.

Concept of Transition

time lapse video is a fun way to show things which happen over an extended period of time in just a few minutes or seconds. this can be considered as a technique of high speed photography or slow motion. the processes is normally take times or period in order to record the subject. this kind of technique usually use to capture an event that have a process, example : a process of blooming flower, sun set & sun rise or traffic.

Prow, front part of a boat is a combination of male and female proportion. the design of boat usually referred to in the feminine and column in the middle referred sense of strong male identity.
