Pik's shophouse research: "Corner Shophouse"

This is a video shows my research on corner shophouse.

The video cover the advantage and disadvantage of the corner shophouse. The idea is having shophouse on the corner allows the shop house to have the space at the side of the shop house but if that space isn't used someone will come and make use that space.

For me, I think that erotic plays with the idea of voyeurism, which create the desire for people to see something more and this idea play with the hiddenness of the light.  I also think erotic means to be attracted to something and that makes people want to stay in the space and feel that the space has the absorb quality which I decided to execute my work by having light as the attraction and use strips of elastic cotton hanging down from the ceiling as the field that creates the field that absorb people into the space and also the field to hide the light from being seen.

The work of Pik - Prapasri Khunakridatikarn

There is a rhythm that leads eyes to the focal point of this picture. It attracts people to look from darker to the lighter area.

The composition of this picture leads our eyes from the darker area to the brighter ones.

The holes of the walls creates curiosity to the viewer of what is behind the wall.

The movement of people leads to two direction either coming in us or going to the light.
