Pink's research on Bill Viola and Andy Warhol

BILL VIOLA

"Five Angels For the Millenium"

Five angels for the Millennium (2001) the video/sound installation by Bill Viola. This is the five channels of color video projection on walls in large, dark room. The five angels are Departing Angel, Birth Angel, Fire Angel, Ascending Angel, and Creation Angel. Each of them projection in slow motion disrupting conventional readings of the image and disorienting the viewer.
It shows the movement within water in different spaces from the space that human can breath to the space that human can't; water. We see the oxygen bubbles and the ripples where the body would have fallen through and varies of shapes are shown. The film has slowdown creating a "dream like" atmosphere. People have time to catch and imagine with the bubble shapes. It is one of the freedom that the audience have towards this video installation.

                                ANDY WARHOL

 "Silver Clouds"

Silver Clouds(1966) by Andy Warhol. The installation of silver clouds are floating all over the room creating movement which is exciting for the people who come by and walk through the clouds. They would want to catch or have some interacting to the floating clouds.
