Overall documentation of this installation, everybody really thought that their would be a stripper or some kind of sexual entertainments in the installation.
Photographic documentation would have been good, as well as drawings describing the dynamics on the installation day.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the most interesting aspect of the installation was how a space was translated into another place with very very few mean and the tension generated by bringing that alien space into the site generated a very controversial piece and certain feeling of discomfort that I think made the piece very strong. In other words, the response to context at many different scales (site specific context - the room configuration, institutional context - Chula, and cultural context - Thailand's conservative/provocative duality) delivered a very consistent piece with very deep meaning and multiple readings.I think you proved an exceptional capability to understand complex conceptual framework, distill them and bring them together into a highly charged meaningful piece. I would strongly recommend to continue working in this way with the project to come, being really conscious of what's inserted in the site and what the effects or dialogue between site and intervention are.
Again, the craft of every elements was stunning (but photographics documentation of the event could have been much better!)
Really great job, looking forward to the next steps.
